This experiential art therapy studio course offers an opportunity for the student to personally experience the art therapy process through exploration of art materials and art therapy techniques applicable to work with individuals and groups. The facilitator will support exploration of the artwork and the process with participants in the group, individually and collectively. There will be opportunities through group discussion to review the art therapy process from different theoretical and therapeutic perspectives, with a special focus on trauma-wise somatic and expressive arts therapy methods woven into the art therapy process, rooted in a social justice and ecological ground. The atmosphere will be collaborative, responsive, curious, kind, generative.
