Essenze Publications is the publishing arm of the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute, launched in 2019. Its purpose is to offer original, multi-platform contributions to the field of expressive arts in Canada.
At this time, we are primarily focused on texts supporting our land-based, culturally responsive approach to art therapy.
Current Publications
The Golden Salamander: Environmental Education and Art Therapy is a dialogue between an art therapist and an environmental educator, between a mother and a son. It is a conversation about nature, art, and story: discussing eco literacy, art therapy and environmental education.
The Magpie’s Nest: Arts-based Supervision is intended as a guidebook, resource, and source of inspiration to support the professional development and supervision for clinicians, art therapy students, art therapists, art therapy educators, on-site supervisors, peer supervisors, on-line digital art therapy supervisors, and registered art therapists providing group and individual supervision.
