(be)coming home: reconstructing an artist identity
(be)coming home is an exploration of artist identity as a training art therapist through a social constructivist and transpersonal lens. It speaks to the value of the relationship and interconnectedness between self, art making, and other in the practice of art therapy. This art book is an integration of more than four years of reflection on what it means to be an artist and how this aspect of our identity impacts not only our work as art therapists, but our identification as art therapists. The author exemplifies the metaphor of creating a home within the artist identity through personal artwork, reflective writing and poetry and invites you to witness the deconstruction and reconstruction of themself as an individual and art therapist in the process.
